Summary: The role of Client-Facing UAT Consultant involves guiding clients through the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process for a Banking-as-a-Service provider associated with a major UK retail bank. This position requires strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into business language while ensuring clients understand the testing process. The consultant will collaborate with internal teams to provide a centralized view of testing efforts and enhance the client experience during onboarding and product rollout. The role is primarily remote with occasional attendance at the London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary testing contact for clients during their UAT phase.
- Build and deliver client-facing test plans/scripts in plain business language - not technical jargon.
- Run clients through the testing process from onboarding to go-live.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Engineering Leads to understand the architecture and flow of specific components.
- Provide end-to-end visibility across testing efforts and ensure negative scenarios are accounted for.
- Identify testing gaps across component teams and escalate where necessary.
- Spend some time embedded with engineering teams to ensure alignment and knowledge transfer.
- Work closely with the internal QA lead to shape documentation and best practice.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in UAT roles, ideally in fintech, BaaS, or core banking environments.
- Proven experience in client-facing roles.
- Strong communicator - both verbal and written - with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
- Excellent organisational skills; able to manage multiple client journeys and maintain oversight of testing coverage.
- Understanding of test automation frameworks (hands-on scripting not required).
- Able to challenge and align with engineering and product stakeholders.
- Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams.
- Experience creating clear, structured documentation for non-technical audiences.
