Key Responsibilities:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a BI Analyst to join our business intelligence team, this will be a remote role with national travel required occasionally as and when required for the attendance of meetings, events and in-office touchpoint days.

Contract type: Full time, permanent

Location: Remote with national travel

The BI Analyst will be responsible for creating, developing and maintaining critical reporting suites to drive business growth and efficiency. This will encompass both planned and ad hoc reports derived from all software platforms and will be predominately harnessing SQL Server, PowerBi and PowerApps technologies. The role will also focus on performance reporting and the development of reporting suites covering operational, people, financial and other transactional data sources. You will work closely with stakeholders across departments to deliver insightful dashboards and data models using Power BI, SQL Server, and cloud-based data sources.

Role Responsibilities

  • Use the in-house systems to produce 1st in class daily, weekly and monthly reporting, including the use of SQL, PowerApps and PowerBI to display key metrics in a way that can be clearly understood across the business;
  • Develop reporting to measure both commercial, operational success and quality of service delivery across multiple contracts and functional areas.
  • Support Operational Managers and Heads of Departments with analytical and concise reporting and summaries.
  • Undertake projects as directed to provide analytical solutions to support business decision making and review in the development of continual improvement and business development.
  • Undertake trend analysis and forecasting to inform users of key performance information relating to demand, capacity, systems and process management and compliance
  • Communicate with colleagues to validate that numbers and material have the right level of quality.
  • Own data quality practices and procedures, ensuring data validated and cleansed as necessary across all key data sources within the organisation.
  • Use workflows, processes, data dictionaries and applications as relevant and followed by functional areas to meet business strategy needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and describe requirements and test solutions.
  • Create and manage positive relations with internal users and manage the projects to have accurate and on-time delivery.
  • Understand business strategy, goals and objectives to provide value-adding BI tools.
  • Make sure reports and analytics are up to date and meet the requirement.
  • Collaborate with and cooperate with teams (IT, Finance, Operations, HR, Bidding, Compliance, etc.).
  • Deliver responsibilities in the most cost-effective way

Do you have what it takes?

  • Power BI Experience and/or qualifications essential - designing dashboards, complex DAX calculations, create data models, structure data sets, understand relationships between different data sets, keep up to date with all the new releases, building foundations of data set.
  • Power Query Experience Essential – Experience and knowledge of Power Query M, application of PowerQuery to connect and transform datasets.
  • SQL Server Experience Essential – database maintenance, creating queries and procedures, applying ETL processes to collate, store and process various data sources from within and outside of the organisation.
  • Experience of REST API protocols, and application of API’s to extract/load data, is desirable.
  • Other coding experience highly desirable, including but not limited to utilisation of PowerShell and Python.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Suite of products, including PowerApps, Power Automate, etc.
  • Experience as a business analyst, data visualisation analyst, BI analyst or computer/coding related qualification.
  • Conceptual knowledge of data modelling and relational databases.
  • Can explain complex data structures and analyses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have a good grasp of “data storytelling” – you can visualise data to emphasise the main story.
  • Ability to communicate and translate data.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify the complex.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and apply complex data and information.
  • Background in managing big data sets, including relational databases.

You will have a proven track record in delivering results within a progressive, dynamic, fast-paced and complex operational environment, comfortable handling large data sets from multiple data sources.
