Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in GIS mapping, infrastructure, tools, and techniques to align LADBS's capabilities with modern, GIS-based permitting workflows in LACPS.
  • Create and maintain GIS-based building layers, especially for LADBS retrofit programs, ensuring all new permits and inspections within LACPS have accurate geospatial references.
  • Use GIS tools to automate workflows for LACPS, replacing manual processes from the legacy PCIS system, to improve data accuracy and reduce processing times.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and manage GIS map services to be used by LACPS and future applications, ensuring consistent and reliable GIS functionality across platforms.
  • Develop Python scripts to automate data processing and editing tasks within GIS layers, facilitating data consistency and quality control.
  • Perform spatial and tabular queries on GIS layers and LACPS data to provide comprehensive data for reporting and analysis.
  • Use Python, ArcGIS, and PL/SQL to create and update scripts focused on data quality, ensuring LACPS maintains a high standard for geospatial data.
  • Oversee the building footprint feature class and associated GIS services, monitoring and optimizing them for LACPS needs.

Tasks and deliverables include, but are not limited to:
