Apple Device Management Specialist

Summary: We are looking for an Apple Device Management Specialist for a short-term project focused on optimizing device enrollment and software distribution across Apple devices. The role requires expertise in Apple Business Manager, Apple School Manager, and Jamf Pro, with an emphasis on improving network performance for efficient content delivery. The position is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager, including:
• Automated device enrollment
• VPP/Apps & Books assignments
• MDM server integration
• Administer and maintain the Jamf Pro environment
• Device provisioning
• Policy scripting
• Configuration profiles
• App deployment and update management
• Coordinate large-scale macOS and iOS/iPadOS software update rollouts with minimal impact to bandwidth.
• Work with network engineers to optimize caching services and content delivery, including:
• Apple Caching Server setup/troubleshooting
• Jamf Pro content distribution points (CDPs or DP servers)
• Bandwidth usage monitoring and shaping
• Troubleshoot deployment or update issues on supervised Apple devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, security, education/business staff) to maintain best practices and compliance.
• Maintain documentation for ABM/ASM and Jamf configurations, update processes, and network performance improvements

Key Skills:

• Strong experience with Apple Business Manager (ABM) or Apple School Manager (ASM)
• Proficiency in Jamf Pro
• Knowledge of automated device enrollment and software distribution
