Summary: The role of Contract Actuarial Calculations Analyst focuses on providing actuarial calculations support specifically for Defined Benefits. This position is initially scoped for 3 to 6 months with the possibility of extension and is classified as Inside IR35. The role allows for fully remote working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide calculation support for standard and non-standard member option calculations.
  • Complete member options calculations.
  • Analyse new scheme benefit data and enable automated tools to maximize outputs and reduce manual calculations.
  • Utilize strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, for actuarial tasks.
  • Apply knowledge of technical actuarial concepts, including bulk annuity pricing principles.
  • Maintain awareness of the DB buy in/buy out market and relevant regulations.
  • Leverage experience from pensions or investment consultancy, life insurance, or reinsurer sectors.
  • Utilize solid actuarial experience and defined benefit expertise.
  • Any experience of GMP would be a distinct advantage.

  • Analyse new scheme benefit data and enable automated tool (to run and maximise outputs in order to remove manual calculations support).
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of technical actuarial concepts, specifically principles underlying bulk annuity pricing
  • Awareness of DB buy in/buy out market, life insurance/relevant regulation.
  • Experience of pensions or investment consultancy, life insurer or reinsurer.
  • Any experience of GMP would be a distinct advantage
