Summary: The Quality Assurance Tester role is a 6-month hybrid position primarily focused on automated testing within a government context. The candidate will work closely with developers and analysts to ensure comprehensive test coverage and will be responsible for mentoring other testers. Essential skills include proficiency in modern programming languages and experience with the testing lifecycle, particularly in agile environments. The role requires BPSS clearance and offers a maximum of one in-person workshop per month in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain automated tests for UI and API, contributing to frameworks and automation suites.
• Understand the testing lifecycle from business needs to production, including test generation, reporting, and defect management.
• Collaborate with software developers and analysts to ensure adequate test coverage and business scenario coverage.
• Coach and mentor other testers in the team.

Key Skills:

• Demonstrable skills in a modern programming language and software engineering practices.
• Experience with automated testing and the testing lifecycle.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and CI/CD principles.
• Knowledge of non-functional testing (Performance, Security, Accessibility) is a plus.
