Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician role in Selby, North Yorkshire, involves managing and implementing quality assurance processes in compliance with ISO standards and food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer quality assurance processes and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and conduct ongoing site audits to assure compliance with company, customer, and ISO standards.
  • Manage technical communication and interactions with customers to support sales managers regarding product quality.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and operational staff to improve process and quality systems.
  • Maintain customer relations to ensure integration of business and customer quality requirements.
  • Provide feedback on site quality issues and coordinate experiments and analysis for process improvement.
  • Analyze alignment between product specifications and customer contract specifications.
  • Manage documentation, questionnaires, and specifications for web platforms or customer quality systems.
  • Handle customer complaints and report monthly on their status.
  • Manage quality system procedures and BRC certification audits.
  • Release and maintain quality package documentation for products and production plants.
  • Conduct staff training on the quality system.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of quality assurance processes related to food safety, allergen control, and HACCP.
  • Degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline such as food science or chemistry.
  • Demonstrable experience in quality control and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of Sage and SAP is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, including senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently under tight deadlines.
