Summary: The QA/QC Engineer role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of MEP systems for a major Paper Mill extension project in Chester, United Kingdom. The position requires the development and implementation of QA/QC procedures, conducting inspections, and coordinating with subcontractors over a full-time contract lasting 10 months. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC procedures for MEP systems.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks on MEP installations.
  • Review and verify MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Perform site audits and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Implement and maintain inspection and testing plans (ITP) for MEP installations.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all QA/QC records, test reports, and approvals.
  • Assist in commissioning and handover procedures.
  • Work closely with project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to UK MEP regulations and safety standards.

Key Skills:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
  • Proven experience in QA/QC for MEP systems in large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP quality standards, inspection processes, and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with UK regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Experience in NCR management, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • Valid work permit to work in the UK.
