Summary: The Interim Project Manager (Highways) role involves overseeing the project life cycle of an NEC contract, ensuring effective communication and compliance throughout the project. The position requires leveraging technical expertise to address site queries and design issues while managing contractor programmes and traffic management plans. The role is based in Winchester and is expected to last for 6-7 months. The pay rate is £42.01 per hour PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve contractor programmes and traffic management plans.
  • Provide progress reports to update the client team on project status.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with programme, quality, and budget.
  • Offer technical advice and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams during design and construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, health and safety, CDM, and legal regulations, and support internal communications for stakeholder updates.

Key Skills:

  • BSc/BEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering or related experience NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
  • Valid UK driving licence (for site visits).
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, and specifications, including DMRB, TSRGD, Manual for Streets, and CDM Regulations.
  • Experience in Leadership/Management of a team.
  • Experience in all stages of design and construction of civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in supervising construction activities.
  • Experience and knowledge of highway contracts, specifications, method of measurement, item coverage, and pricing schedules relating to highway projects and schemes.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD.
