Summary: The role of Sr. Project Manager involves overseeing a digital accessibility remediation initiative, acting as the primary liaison among various stakeholders, including third-party agencies and internal teams. The position requires strong organizational skills and experience in managing technical web projects within a CMS environment. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards. This is a contract role based in Toronto or Halifax, requiring in-office presence at least three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the central point of contact across all parties involved in the accessibility remediation initiative.
- Facilitate project planning, prioritization, issue resolution and team coordination.
- Track remediation progress against timelines, dependencies, and milestones.
- Facilitate regular status meetings and working sessions between the external audit agency, internal developer(s) making CMS updates, and internal QA resources validating fixes.
- Escalate blockers, risks, or scope changes to leadership as needed.
- Ensure deliverables are aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and project goals.
- Prepare and deliver weekly or biweekly updates to senior management on project status, risks, and next steps.
- Document decisions, process updates, and action items.
Key Skills:
- 3-5 years experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in digital/web projects.
- Experience working with or managing third-party vendors.
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and digital compliance projects.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience tracking project tasks using tools like Jira, Asana, or MS Project.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience in enterprise CMS environments (e.g., TeamSite, AEM, Sitecore).
- Understanding of front-end development processes and QA workflows.
- Previous experience with accessibility remediation or audit-driven projects.
