Summary: The Project Controls Manager role in Bristol involves leading the implementation and management of project controls measures for complex projects within an international defense company. The position requires close collaboration with project and program managers, as well as the development of strong stakeholder relationships. Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be sole UK nationals. This role is hybrid, allowing for work from home options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish/maintain or adhere to specific project controls governance, processes, and procedures.
• Establish the Performance Measurement Baseline position in terms of scope/cost/schedule.
• Manage scheduling staff to develop and analyze integrated project schedules.
• Provide cost management, change management, risk & opportunity management, and document management.
• Deliver regular management reporting on project status and forecasts.
• Interrogate subcontractor data related to project controls.
• Gather independent evidence to ensure project success criteria are met.
• Integrate and align project control toolsets across partnerships and suppliers.
• Deputise for the Project Manager as necessary.
• Establish and manage an Earned Value Management (EVM) system.
• Implement ongoing risk management processes and reporting.
• Support Integrated Baseline Reviews with stakeholders.
• Develop and mentor project controls staff.
• Maintain key project control documentation and ensure configuration control.
• Provide weekly and monthly Project Progress and Metrics Reports.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in project controls on complex/major projects.
• Knowledge of project controls approaches and practices (planning, cost, risk management, EVM).
• Experience with project controls governance measures.
• Familiarity with project controls toolsets (MSP, P6, RiskHive, ERP/SAP).
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, including external suppliers and customers.
