Summary: The Project Controls Engineer will support the Package Manager in overseeing contractor performance and assist in project controls for a leading energy company. This role involves maintaining and updating project schedules, providing progress reporting, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. The position is based in Flintshire, North Wales, with regular visits to the HQ in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project execution and controls, particularly within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Package Manager with project controls for assigned work packages.
- Attend contractor meetings and site visits.
- Maintain and update package schedules, supporting integration into the overall project schedule.
- Provide progress reporting, including updates, KPIs, forecasts, variance analysis, and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor project compliance with contractual and procedural requirements.
- Verify contractor progress and payment applications.
- Support action plans to prevent cost and schedule overruns through value engineering.
- Review and challenge schedule, cost, and manpower forecasts.
- Prepare performance and progress reports for review with project leadership.
- Maintain project lessons learned and change management records.
- Support monitoring of permitting activities.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Execution / Project Controls.
- Solid knowledge of project control tools and principles.
- Experience in oil & gas industry planning roles.
- Proficient in Primavera P6, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Understanding of challenges and opportunities in energy transition.
