Summary: The Project Control Engineer will support the Package Manager in overseeing contractor performance and assist the Project Control Department with scheduling and reporting activities on a 12-month PAYE contract basis in Talacre, North Wales. The role involves maintaining project schedules, monitoring compliance, and providing progress reports while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. The position requires a strong background in project controls, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry, and proficiency in relevant tools such as Primavera P6. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Package Manager in managing the project controls function for assigned work package(s).
- Attend meetings with contractors and perform site visits.
- Maintain and update the package control schedule and support the Project Control Department in integrating it into the integrated LBCCS schedule.
- Provide the PM and Project Control Department with progress reports, including schedule updates, KPIs, forecasts to complete, variance analysis, and recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project procedures.
- Verify contractor progress and applications for payment.
- Assist the package team in developing action plans to avoid cost and schedule overruns, including value engineering initiatives.
- Review and challenge forecast trend analyses for package schedules and costs.
- Analyze project deliverable status and evaluate forecast man-hours to complete.
- Review forecasts with the Project Manager and Engineering Leadership Team.
- Monitor and report on project performance, presenting results to the package team.
- Prepare progress analysis reports for projects in development and execution phases.
- Manage and maintain the project lessons-learned database.
- Maintain detailed change management records and support the Work Package Manager in evaluating change orders.
- Support the WPM in monitoring progress on permitting activities.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
- Working knowledge of project controls tools and principles.
- Relevant planning experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably with operating companies.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Experience with SharePoint; familiarity with clients tools (e.g., Assai, Xflow) is a plus.
- Good understanding of the challenges and opportunities in transitioning from oil and gas to a low-carbon future.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English mandatory; additional languages an advantage).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution or project controls.
- Proactive in gathering required information.

Our Client has a requirement for a Project Control Engineer, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Talacre, North Wales.
Hybrid : 8 Days working from home per month
Based : Talacre, North Wales
