Summary: The Programme Manager will oversee the Training Equipment team, managing complex programme elements and ensuring successful execution within a highly regulated environment. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate sensitive situations while engaging with technical experts. The position is contract-based, requiring SC Clearance and involves hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be responsible for programme delivery, finances, governance, and customer interface.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for programme delivery in Training Equipment
- Responsible for managing the programme finances and governance
- Responsible for escalations and customer interface
- Working with customers and suppliers in joint management boards
- Implement PMX best practice and manage by example to instil flawless programme execution behaviours and processes
Key Skills:
- Experience of managing complex programme and customers
- Relevant, recent demonstrable experience of successful programme execution in a highly regulated and/or controlled environment
- A self-starting and capable manager, able to effect change through the Matrix organisation
- Supportive character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations
- Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding
- Drive to create change and continuously improve performance
- Creative and open to innovation in order to solve problems
- Experience of working on Jira (desirable)
- Experience of working in MOD and/or training (desirable)
- Degree qualified in a technical or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience (desirable)
- Interested in continuous professional development of self and others (desirable)
