Summary: The Buyer role at Wabtec Corporation in Doncaster involves managing the procurement process for spare parts and services related to train maintenance and operation optimization. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop product/commodity strategies for assigned products/vendors.
• Guide buying activities to maximize sourcing and QCD benefits.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing and negotiating contracts.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement purchasing efficiency strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing activities with business objectives.
• Support supplier quality and delivery improvement activities.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet asset plans and budgets.
• Accurately prepare and issue purchase orders with correct cost allocation.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.

Key Skills:

• Previous buying, purchasing, or procurement experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly driven and self-motivated.
• Proactive decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Good level of IT skills (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Oracle preferred, PowerPoint).
• CIPS or IOSCM Qualification is desirable.
