Summary: The Production Test Engineer role involves supporting the testing and diagnosis of complex electronic and electrical systems within a manufacturing environment. The position requires hands-on experience and collaboration with various teams to ensure efficient product testing and release. The engineer will act as a technical authority to resolve issues and improve testing processes. This is a full-time position with potential for limited hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide test engineering support to production and development activities
  • Carry out testing of electronic and electrical systems and sub-assemblies
  • Diagnose test failures down to PCB and component level
  • Identify root causes and define corrective and remedial actions
  • Support the introduction and configuration control of test equipment and facilities
  • Produce and maintain test specifications, procedures and operator instructions
  • Support defect investigations and contribute to review boards where required
  • Work closely with manufacturing and quality teams to improve test efficiency and robustness

Key Skills:

  • HNC or HND in an Engineering discipline (Electronics preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience in test engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex electronic faults down to component level
  • Solid understanding of electronic measurement and test principles
  • Experience writing technical documentation such as test procedures and reports
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Test Engineer to join a manufacturing team supporting the test and diagnosis of complex electronic and electrical systems. This is a hands-on role based within a production environment, working closely with manufacturing, quality and design teams to ensure products are tested, diagnosed and released efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support both development and in-production testing, acting as a technical authority when issues arise and ensuring manufacturing can continue with minimal disruption.
