Summary: The Production Controller is responsible for managing customer orders and ensuring timely delivery of products through efficient production control and supply chain management. This role involves using SAP and P6 to oversee production schedules, manage work orders, and facilitate interdepartmental cost-saving initiatives. The position requires a focus on prioritizing tasks and maintaining clear communication across teams to meet business and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load Customer Order demand into production and manage Work Order in SAP
- Ensure kits/works orders are released to AIT on time and expedite them to meet planned delivery dates
- Input into and maintain Production Schedules
- Maintain the 'live' status of products in the AIT production flows
- Support the manufacturing area manager with work centre forecasts
- Create and review the status of works orders
- Manage material supply issues to avoid delivery slippages
- Timely release of purchase requisitions
- Ensure full traceability for all products issued to manufacturing
- Monitor drawing release activity and adherence to production schedules
- Input and maintain production data required by the company stock control tool
- Effectively report status of product to core project and manufacturing teams
- Analyse and report potential impacts from 'Shortage Risk Reports'
- Propose solutions in the event of shortages
- Identify schedule recovery opportunities from changing production workflow
- Investigate customer orders and notify project management of non-conformance
- Manage the transfer of materials to satisfy project/company demand
- Support shipments from AIT in accordance with LDS.0096
- Advise on kit issues/anomalies with the shop floor
- Continuous self-development of the production scheduling tool and AIT processes
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MRP
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling
- Planning/Scheduling qualification
- 3 years previous experience using an MRP/ERP system
- 3 years previous experience using SAP
- 2 years previous experience in planning & schedule management
- Ability to deliver results against schedule milestones
- Critical path analysis and schedule control
- Planning, organization, and prioritization skills
- Clear and concise communication at all levels
