Procurement Specialist

Summary: The Procurement Specialist role at BAE Systems involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and supporting supply chain operations. The position requires a strong understanding of SAP processes and commercial awareness to optimize procurement strategies. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension, requiring on-site presence in Glascoed 1-2 days per week. The role is integral to ensuring the delivery and quality of products within the defense and aerospace sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working on current contracts, supporting new bids for existing products and general supply chain requirements
• Negotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditions as applicable
• Managing supplier performance and relationships to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and in-service performance
• Timely resolution to issues relating to operational requirements
• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day performance of allocated category and suppliers in respect of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost performance matters
• Optimising execution of the supply chain, balancing inventory, supply orders and schedule demand

Key Skills:

• Experience of working to SAP processes, recognising the impact should these processes not be followed
• Good business understanding and commercial awareness to ensure essential information is obtained, reported with an insightful ability to recognise relevant options available for a solution and select an appropriate & effective course of action
