Summary: The role of Technical Procurement Specialist involves managing the procurement process for green hydrogen projects within a leading energy business. The specialist will be responsible for supplier management, contract negotiations, and ensuring compliance with procurement standards. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to align procurement strategies with project goals. The role emphasizes the implementation of best practices in procurement to mitigate risks associated with cost, schedule, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for green hydrogen production, renewable generation equipment projects, and logistics services.
  • Manage commercial negotiations and contractor relationships.
  • Negotiate and place contracts with suppliers, finding a balance of best value for the company.
  • Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, OEMs, regulators, and other parties to ensure procurement aligns with project requirements.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support project goals and Protium's green hydrogen initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external resources related to procurement activities.
  • Deploy industry best practices in procurement to mitigate schedule, cost, and quality-related risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in procurement practices.
  • Report procurement progress to internal teams and clients.
  • Support the development of grant applications and other public sector engagement associated with financial support mechanisms.

Key Skills:

  • Multiple years of experience in a procurement role, preferably within the energy, construction, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage complex procurement processes and deliver results.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry, particularly in wind, solar, hydrogen, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Experience required in wind turbines, construction, and green hydrogen production.
  • Experience in reviewing technical scopes and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in risk and issue management and corporate dispute resolution.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, notably PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and Word.
