About The Role As a Principal Structural Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of project delivery, leading your team in the successful execution of challenging structural engineering projects. You will be involved in the following:
- Lead Project Delivery: Take complete ownership of civil and structural engineering projects, ensuring high-quality designs, adherence to deadlines and budgets, and full compliance with health and safety regulations and quality assurance procedures.
- Manage & Develop Your Team: Oversee your team's efforts, allocate resources effectively, and address any HR-related issues. You'll be a key mentor, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Drive Business Growth: Actively engage in sales planning, participate in project bids, and lead tender interviews to secure a sustainable pipeline of work. You'll cultivate strong client relationships and contribute to marketing and sales strategies.
- Financial & Contractual Oversight: Monitor project financial performance, manage change control processes, and oversee contractual matters, ensuring profitability and resolving any issues promptly.
- Promote Innovation: Champion design innovation across your team and contribute to divisional task groups, staying at the forefront of engineering best practices.
About You You will ideally be a Chartered Engineer with demonstrable experience in Structural Engineering Demonstrable experience leading complex projects from inception to completion Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering professional development and addressing performance Strong understanding of quality assurance, commercial governance, and health and safety regulations Experience in business development activities, including sales planning, bidding, and client relationship management Excellent financial acumen, with experience in project budgeting, cost control, and change management A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for design innovation.
