Summary: The Principal Engineer (Building Services) role involves leading the design and development of various building services systems, including HVAC and fire detection systems, within a nuclear industry context. This is a hybrid role for a duration of 6 months, emphasizing collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design and development of Building Services, Control Systems, HVAC systems, and Fire Detection Systems.
  • Provide technical oversight to a small-to-medium design team, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
  • Apply nuclear industry design standards and ensure adherence to regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Utilise specialist design software tools including AutoCAD, AMTECH, Dialux, and PDMS/Aviva 3D.
  • Report progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years' experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
  • 5+ years' experience working within the nuclear industry.
  • Chartered Electrical Engineer (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Proven experience in Building Services, Control Systems, HVAC systems, and Fire Detection Systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing design teams.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AMTECH, Dialux, and PDMS / Aviva 3D.

Salary (Rate): £50 per hour
