Summary: The Prepare Officer role within the Counter Terrorism Policing NW is focused on the development and assurance of National CT Contingency Plans, ensuring collaboration between national capabilities and regional responders. The position involves liaising with multiple agencies and supporting national and regional exercises and validations. The officer will also coordinate debriefs to facilitate organisational learning in counter-terrorism efforts. This role requires a strategic approach to operational readiness and collaboration across various levels of response.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, review, and assure National CT Contingency Plans.
- Ensure a collaborative approach between National CT Capabilities and Regional CCA Cat 1 Responders.
- Liaise on guidance across multiple agencies at operational and strategic levels.
- Support National ODU and Regional prepare team with priority exercising and validation.
- Develop and report on the tactical delivery of CTPNW exercises.
- Conduct and coordinate national debriefs to support organisational learning.
- Coordinate and conduct regional debriefs of operations, exercises, or projects as commissioned by Senior leadership.
Key Skills:
- Experience in counter-terrorism or emergency management.
- Strong communication and liaison skills across various agency levels.

Information About The Role
The role of a CT Prepare officer will be responsible for the development, maintenance, review and assurance of National CT Contingency Plans, as defined by the NPRAS process, ensuring a nationally consistent but regionally specific collaborative approach between National CT Capabilities and Regional CCA Cat 1 Responders, JESIP partners and other agencies. The role requires liaison on guidance across multiple agencies at varying levels, operational through to strategic. The post holder supports National ODU (Organisational Development Unit) and Regional prepare team with National and Regional priority exercising and validation, to compliment the HSG (Homeland Security Group) national exercise programme and furthermore develop and report nationally on the tactical delivery of CTPNW exercises. The post holder will be conduct and coordinate national debriefs in support of Counter Terrorism Policing Organisational Development Unit to support national organisational learning and also coordinate and conduct regional debriefs of operations, exercise or projects as commissioned by Senior leadership.
