Job Summary Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust recognise the important role that Arts Psychotherapies have in supporting people with complex mental health needs. We are committed to broadening access to psychological therapies to ensure that we meet the needs of our diverse communities. If you are a motivated, highly skilled and experienced art psychotherapist ready to take the next steps in developing your career whilst working as part of a multi disciplinary team please read on... We have seven Steps to Recovery units and an Intensive Community Rehabilitation Team located at various sites across the city. Each offer a range of mental health rehabilitation services and are committed to supporting people with complex care needs. The successful candidate will work across 2 sites facilitating art therapy within 3 of our Complex Care units - Endeavour Court, Erdington and Dan Mooney and David Bromley House located on the same site in Knowle, Solihull. This autonomous role will require you to develop the art psychotherapy resource within these units, to liaise with the MDT and support the delivery of effective and responsive psychological care. You will be warmly welcomed into a well established and supportive group of psychological practitioners working across Steps to Recovery and Assertive Outreach Services.

Main duties of the job The successful candidate will, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, inform and develop art psychotherapy referral pathways, facilitate both individual 1:1, and group interventions, as well as provide consultation to other clinical staff. You will be required to clinically supervise band 6 and 7 art psychotherapists working across the trust and will yourself receive clinical supervision from and experienced art psychotherapist. You will have access to training and development opportunities to develop your career within a dynamic team in a busy setting. As an Art Psychotherapist working within the Trust, you will become a member of a large community of Arts Psychotherapists working in various settings including, Secure Care and Offender Health, Early Intervention Services, Complex Treatment Service, Community Art Psychotherapy Service, SOLAR Young People's Service and the Enhanced Team for Personality Disorders. This network of Arts Psychotherapists will ensure you have access to model specific support, mentoring and professional leadership via the Heads of Arts Psychotherapies.
