Summary: The Power BI Specialist role involves joining an insurance client for a 6-month contract, focusing on the design and delivery of scalable integration solutions using Power BI and other Microsoft data tools. The position requires extensive experience in Power BI and familiarity with various Microsoft technologies, with a strong emphasis on best practices in application development. The role is based on-site in Ipswich and classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience of Power BI is essential
- Familiarity / skills across the full stack of Microsoft data tools (SSIS, SSRS, Azure SQL, SQL Server) required. Also VBA experience would be desirable
- Insurance knowledge desirable but not essential
- Design and deliver enterprise scalable integration solutions involving internal and third party systems
- Support, maintenance and enhancement of existing Power BI solutions
- Designs will ensure that solutions are modelled logically, consistently and intuitively, ensuring that they perform optimally within agreed tolerances.
- Peer review of code from development team members and third-party providers, with a focus on maintainability and performance.
- Ensure solutions are built to best practices and patterns for application development and integration.
- Working with DevOps and Service Managers to provide active management of the continuous integration/continuous deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
- Insurance/ Financial services experience
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience with Power BI
- Familiarity with Microsoft data tools (SSIS, SSRS, Azure SQL, SQL Server)
- Desirable VBA experience
- Knowledge of insurance industry (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in designing scalable integration solutions
- Ability to support and enhance existing Power BI solutions
