Summary: The Power BI Developer role involves supporting a public sector client by developing dashboards and reports to enhance performance monitoring and service improvement. This position is on an initial 6-month contract with hybrid working arrangements and requires collaboration with various stakeholders. Candidates must have the ability to obtain BPSS/DBS clearance and possess proven skills in Power BI and data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
- Work with data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and Capita.
- Perform data modelling using star schema and other best practices.
- Define KPIs and metrics with business stakeholders.
- Schedule data refreshes and manage gateway connections.
- Support users with training, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Collaborate across data teams, analysts, and IT.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Key Skills:
- Proven skills in Power BI dashboard and report development.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and Capita.
- Data modelling expertise using star schema and best practices.
- Ability to define KPIs and metrics.
- Experience in scheduling data refreshes and managing gateway connections.
- Strong collaboration skills with data teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft Power BI certification (desirable).

We are seeking a Power BI Developer for our public sector client on an initial 6-month contract paying up to £500 per day Outside IR35. This role allows hybrid working with an expectation to attend the office occasionally as required. You will support performance monitoring and service improvement by developing high-quality dashboards and reports. You will work closely with the DMP Data Group, SEND Business Analyst, Capita lead, and Head of SEND Service. You will need to either hold current BPSS/DBS clearance or have the ability to pass it. The successful Power BI Developer will possess proven skills working with the following –
- Power BI dashboard and report development

- Working with data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and Capita

Qualifications
