Key Responsibilities:
- Manage water companies permit to work (PTW) system.
- Interpret water main design drawings and job packs.
- Measure and calibrate water mains.
- Distinguish between existing pipe materials and joints.
- Develop contingency plans and temporary works design for pressure testing.
- Design thrust block requirements.
- Handle discharge licenses including flow rates.
- Implement the 3-stage DENSO process for buried flanged joints.
- Select appropriate pipe-cutting equipment.
- Reinstate valves, hydrants, and other water network equipment.
- Ensure proper bolt torque and documentation recording.
- Safely carry out tasks set by the site management team or ganger.

- EUSR joint material by ELECTROFUSION processes (EUSMUN10).

The Role
The Pipe Fitter/ Mains Layer is required to cover works within the Southern region.
Key Responsibilities
- Water companies permit to work (PTW) System
- Water main design drawings service drawings and job packs
- PE pipes with their properties and characteristics
- Measuring and calibrating water mains
- Able to distinguish between existing pipe materials and joints
- Contingency plans and their requirements
- Temporary works design for pressure testing
- Thrust block requirements and design
- Discharge licenses including flow rates
- 3-stage DENSO process for buried flanged joints
- Correct choice of pipe-cutting equipment
- Reinstate of valves, hydrants, and other water network equipment
- The Importance of bolt torque and recording documentation
