Perinatal Community Mental Health Team Nurse

Summary: The role of Perinatal Community Mental Health Team Nurse within NHS Fife involves providing specialized mental health care to women during pregnancy and the postnatal period. The position focuses on prevention, early intervention, and treatment of mental health issues, while also promoting mother-infant relationships. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assessment and treatment for women experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period.
• Deliver pre-conception advice for women at high risk of severe postpartum mental illness.
• Facilitate the mother-infant relationship and promote infant development.
• Act as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse to the Wider Maternity service.
• Respond to referrals and manage complex demands in a dynamic working environment.
• Provide learning opportunities for peers, student nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure effective partnership working.

Key Skills:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
• Significant Band 5 experience, preferably in community and/or perinatal settings.
