Summary: The Performance Tester role involves assessing system performance and identifying bottlenecks to ensure applications meet performance expectations. The position requires collaboration with developers, architects, and business analysts to enhance system scalability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in performance testing and the ability to utilize various performance testing tools effectively. This role is situated within the public health sector and requires a commitment of up to two days a week in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute performance test plans and scripts.
- Analyse system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Use performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.
- Monitor application performance and generate detailed reports.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure performance issues are resolved.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments.
- Implement best practices for performance testing and optimisation.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in performance testing and engineering.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar).
- Understanding of system architecture, databases, and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, New Relic, Dynatrace).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
