Summary: The PCB Design Engineer role focuses on CAD design and layout for RF and high-speed digital boards using Altium, requiring on-site presence five days a week. The position involves various responsibilities, including component placement, routing, and ensuring design for manufacturing and testability. Strong knowledge of IPC standards is essential for this role. The position is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- PCB CAD design/layout using Altium software suite
- Component placement and routing for RF and high-speed digital boards
- Design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for testability (DFT)
- Support design engineers in selecting PCB materials
- Design and verify high-speed and power traces
- Preparation of manufacturing data
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards and guidelines
Key Skills:
- PCB CAD design using Altium
- Electronic schematic capture
- Components library definition and design
- Mixed technology experience (SMT, PTH)
- Multi-layered PCB design
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610, IPC-2221 standards
- Experience with balanced high-speed trace design
