Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to implement a new payroll processing system.
  • Ensure accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing in line with statutory and company requirements.
  • Support audits and compliance checks related to payroll and benefits.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation affecting payroll and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in shaping and maintaining job grades, salary banding, and benefit structures across the organization.
  • Benchmark roles against market data to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of reward frameworks that support retention and attraction of top talent.
  • Support the review and implementation of Tandem’s benefits to align with employee needs and business strategy.
  • Build trusted relationships across departments to ensure collaborative and transparent reward processes.
  • Contribute to internal communication strategies for reward and benefit changes.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in payroll operations.
  • Experience of IRIS payroll processing or IRIS system implementations.
  • Knowledge of job evaluation and grading methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project work and change management is a plus.
  • Experience within banking, financial services or a regulated environment is desirable.

Job Title: Pay and Benefits Partner (6 month fixed term contract)

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.00, 36.25 hours per week

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 and benefits

This is a pivotal role supporting the delivery of an accurate and timely payroll service and supporting the implementation of a new payroll process (using IRIS) across the bank. You will be responsible for reviewing and refining our approach to pay and benefits, ensuring their alignment with our business goals and compliance standards.

As a Pay and Benefits Partner at Tandem your focus will be on:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party provider to ensure the new processing system is effectively implemented, and the risks and controls framework is documented and embedded
  • Ensure accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing in line with statutory and company requirements.
  • Support audits and compliance checks related to payroll and benefits.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation affecting payroll and ensure compliance
  • Assist in shaping and maintaining job grades, salary banding, and benefit structures across the organisation.
  • Benchmark roles against market data to ensure competitiveness and fairness.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of reward frameworks that support retention and attraction of top talent.
