Network Engineer (SC CLEARED)

Summary: The Network Engineer role at Pigment Consulting involves maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network infrastructure with a focus on firewall management, routing, and Azure networking components. The position requires active SC Clearance and is fully onsite in Corsham. The engineer will work on enterprise-grade firewalls and collaborate with architecture teams to enhance network solutions. Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Azure networking services is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and support enterprise-grade Palo Alto firewalls, including rule base management and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and manage routing across hybrid environments (on-prem and Azure) for high availability and performance.
• Configure and maintain Azure networking components such as Traffic Manager, VNETs, and Network Security Groups.
• Perform in-depth network troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and packet analysis.
• Collaborate with architecture teams on network solution design and improvement.

Key Skills:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, particularly Palo Alto.
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts (BGP, OSPF, IP subnetting, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, DNS, DHCP).
• Proven experience supporting and managing Azure networking services in production environments.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud network topologies and secure connectivity models.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex network issues.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work well under pressure.
• Desirable knowledge of NSX firewalls, AVI load balancers, Aruba switches, and Windows or Linux servers.
