Summary: The role of Fortinet Engineer focuses on managing software upgrades and hardware migrations within a Fortinet environment, primarily working remotely with one day a week onsite in Docklands. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute Fortinet software upgrades and hardware migrations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to minimise service disruption during upgrades and migrations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Fortinet-related issues during and post-upgrade/migration.
  • Collaborate with other network and security teams to ensure alignment with broader infrastructure initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience with Fortinet hardware and software upgrades.
  • Hands-on experience with FortiManager.
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure, including routing and switching.
  • Experience with out-of-hours maintenance tasks and planning.
  • Fortinet certifications (NSE 4 or higher) desirable.
  • Cisco ACI experience.
  • F5 load balancer experience.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and Multicast.
  • Experience in large-scale network migrations or upgrades.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required for critical upgrades or migrations.

Location: Primarily Remote (1 day per week onsite at Docklands office)

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (some tasks may require out-of-hours work)

Day Rate: Up to £480
