Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and delivery of the University's Network Modernisation Programme.
- Developing secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures, including software-defined networking (SDN), cloud integration, and next-gen security solutions.
- Overseeing the deployment of Cisco ISE, NAC policies, and Zero Trust principles to enhance security and access management.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align network strategy with business and digital transformation goals.
- Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Leading on network performance optimisation, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring colleagues, and championing best practices in network security architecture.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in network and security architecture, preferably in a large and complex environment.
- Strong expertise in enterprise networking, network security, and cloud-based solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies (ISE, Catalyst, SD-WAN, DNA Center) and security frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of authentication protocols (802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+), firewalls, VPNs, and network access control (NAC).
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and network segmentation.
- Experience in leading large-scale network transformation projects from inception to delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
