Summary: The UK Payroll Specialist role involves managing payroll processes for a portfolio of UK entities within a leading entertainment company. The position requires collaboration across various functions and time zones, particularly with US teams, and emphasizes process improvements and strong stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, flexibility, and a proactive approach to payroll management. This is a 6-month hybrid contract starting in March 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll & reimbursable expenses for a portfolio of UK entities in-house within the Workday payroll module.
  • Manage the relationship with local stakeholders such as HMRC & local tax advisory companies.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely payroll, including base pay, stock compensation, payroll taxes, pension, and benefits.
  • Work on timely and correct wage tax filings and ensure local wage tax obligations are met.
  • Perform timely and accurate month-end close process including account reconciliations and accruals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with process & business partners for improvements and efficiency.
  • Partner closely with internal teams (HR / Employee Services / Employment Legal) to enhance the onboarding and payroll experience for UK employees.

Key Skills:

  • Solid functional experience with payroll processing and accounting in UK payroll supporting multiple entities.
  • In-house processing experience in Workday is a must.
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft/Google products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and innovative.
