Summary: The role of Senior .NET Developer involves joining a public sector client for an initial 12-month contract, focusing on both modern cloud-based and legacy applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other members of the team to support a number of applications across the organisation. These applications cover both modern cloud based applications and some more legacy on-prem applications.
- Consult and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including, product owners, business analysts, UI/UX and test teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Contribute to software development projects, providing architectural input when required.
- Provide BAU support for main applications including minor enhancements to ensure that the applications meet current legislation.
- Maintain development environments for the applications using Azure DevOps.
- Maintain documentation for any updates to these systems including run manuals, wikis, and high level/low level technical design documents.
- Ensure software quality and performance through testing and optimisation.
- Ensure that the source code is controlled and that any updates follow the relevant governance (CAB, Architecture review etc).
- Support the redevelopment of a number of legacy applications.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews ensuring adherence to defined coding standards.
- Transition any additional applications from a third party vendor to on site support and development as required.
- Advise on knowledge transfer strategies with third party vendors to ensure a smooth transition.
