Summary: This role as a Mobile Fitter in the Train Care team involves maintaining train interiors to ensure customer comfort and safety. The position requires performing repairs on various fittings and fixtures while adhering to safety standards. The successful candidate will manage inventory and respond to faults during service. This is a contract position based in the Bexley/Dartford area of London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check and repair specified fittings and fixtures within train interiors, including seating, toilets, and storage.
• Conduct quality checks, basic mechanical fitting/plumbing, general maintenance, and heavy cleaning.
• Manage inventory levels of materials, machines, and tools, reporting shortages promptly.
• Act as the first line of response to faults or damage within train interiors while in service.
• Record all work accurately and ensure compliance with required standards.
• Adhere to HSEQ requirements for safety of self, colleagues, and customers.
• Complete relevant training and competency assessments related to role responsibilities.

Key Skills:

• Competence in basic mechanical fitting tasks.
• Experience in the rail sector is desirable; open to applicants from trades, engineering, production, or facilities maintenance backgrounds.
• Ability to work to high standards in a safety-critical environment.
• Confidence in working independently or as part of a team.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
• Current PTS certification is highly desirable; training can be provided.
