Summary: The Mechanical Engineer role is a site-based contract position requiring immediate availability for a minimum of six months. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing mechanical installations, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with quality standards on large construction sites. Candidates should have extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in complex projects, and possess strong communication skills for technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, piping, and other mechanical engineering works, oversight, testing, and inspections.
  • Review QA/QC paperwork and technical report writing.
  • Work on large, mega-scale live construction sites.
  • Ensure site productivity aligns with the agreed schedule.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop quality plans associated with the project.
  • Liaise with the QC inspection team to ensure all work meets required quality standards.

Key Skills:

  • HND/Degree or similar level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer status is beneficial.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including installation and piping engineering, testing, and inspections.
  • At least 5 years of experience in QA/QC and inspections.
  • Experience on complex construction projects, including Waste-Energy, Nuclear, O&G, Renewables, and Airports.
  • Good communication skills and ability to write technical reports.
  • Ability to work in a team, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.
  • Ideally residing within a commutable distance of Cheshire/Flintshire.

Salary (Rate): £47
