Summary: Marshall Land Systems is seeking skilled Mechanical Assembly Technicians to join their production teams in Cambridge, contributing to high-profile military projects involving the assembly of vehicles and containers. The role emphasizes the importance of teamwork and individual contributions in a safety-focused environment. Candidates must be eligible for Baseline Personnel Security Standard Security Clearance. The position offers competitive pay rates based on experience and working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, assemble, and build specialist projects using engineering drawings and design data.
- Install rivets with pneumatic rivet guns and use silicone and sealants with various preparation methods.
- Operate battery and electric powered drill guns while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assemble and join different panels and parts, including torquing and recording tasks.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following health and safety procedures.
- Record progress of work and inspect components before passing to the next stage.
- Support Production Managers and Team Leaders to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean and 5S procedures.
Key Skills:
- Mechanical assembly or mechanical fitting experience.
- Previous experience in automotive or heavy industry is highly desirable.
- Understanding of assembly processes and techniques.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and associated design data.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with workshop environments and production methods.
- Completion of a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent is desirable.
