Summary: This role involves providing maternity cover as a Legal Counsel for a not-for-profit organization in Liverpool, focusing on in-house legal matters. The position requires supporting the Head of Legal with various tasks, including legal advice, drafting, and handling litigation. The contract is fixed-term, and candidates should ideally be qualified solicitors or approaching qualification, with a strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Legal on in-house legal matters.
- Respond to general legal queries and provide legal advice.
- Draft legal letters and handle leases.
- Attend hearings and instruct barristers.
- Deal with civil litigation and debt recovery matters.
- Provide general support to the in-house legal services team.
Key Skills:
- Qualified solicitor of England & Wales or approaching qualification.
- Strong understanding of civil procedure rules and litigation matters.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Good academic record.
- Experience as a paralegal or SQE graduate is considered.
