Manufacturing Bid Lead

Summary: The Manufacturing Bid Lead will oversee the generation of bid data throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring manufacturing is a key stakeholder in creating competitive and compliant bid proposals. This role involves developing cost bases for manufacturing bids, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and supporting new business opportunities. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to present bid packs to senior management. The contract is for 12 months, with a focus on continuous improvement in bidding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead manufacturing bids, ensuring clarity of scope and alignment with industrial policy.
• Generate cost bases for manufacturing bids and analyze data for quantifiable evidence.
• Create competitive and compliant manufacturing bids using PowerPoint.
• Assess risks and ensure financial soundness of bids.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and provide market intelligence.
• Support the New Business Team in identifying opportunities and developing winning strategies.
• Participate in functional and strategic change activities and support best practices.
• Develop and modify manufacturing processes in line with standards and needs.
• Validate and evolve cost models and bidding methodologies for competitiveness.
• Collect, summarize, and present data for decision-making, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Key Skills:

• Experience in complex bids and costed proposals in a manufacturing context.
• Understanding of manufacturing production processes from procurement to delivery.
• Commercial acumen in working with cost models for direct and indirect costs.
• Strong presentation skills for generating and presenting bid packs.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships across multifunctional teams.
• Ability to articulate costing approaches and ensure audit readiness.
• Experience in continuous improvement and lessons learned in bidding processes.
