Summary: The Managing Director will lead the Operations Board and collaborate with the Executive Board to develop and implement strategic plans for Direct Medics, a healthcare staffing company. This role involves managing resources, mentoring team members, and ensuring the company meets its objectives efficiently. The Managing Director will also focus on customer experience, social value, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with regulations while driving business growth and improvement. A strong background in commercial management and strategic leadership is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor and motivate the members of the Operations Board.
- Prepare the strategic corporate plan and annual business plan.
- Ensure these are communicated, resourced and monitor progress against these to ensure that the company attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Executive Team, to keep them aware of developments within the industry and ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations.
- Ensure CX is at the forefront of the Company’s planning and delivery.
- Commit to and lead on provision of social value as a key part of Company strategy, ensuring development, implementation, maintenance and review of the Company social value plan.
- Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with key stakeholders, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.
- Develop and maintain appropriate R&D programmes to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the industry, applies the most cost-effective methods and approaches, provides leading-edge products and services and retains its competitive edge.
- Prepare, agree, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that targets are met, revenue flows are maximised and that fixed costs are minimised.
- Ensure an effective marketing and public relations strategy is in place to promote the products, services and image of the company in the wider community.
- Represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms.
- Work with media, engage in PR and positively promote the Company.
- Ensure appropriate Quality Management systems are maintained throughout the company to ensure that the best possible services are provided to customers.
- Develop, promote and direct the implementation of equal opportunities policies in all aspects of the company’s work.
- Oversee the preparation of the annual report and accounts of the company and ensure their approval by the board.
- Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all governance, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
