Key Responsibilities:

- Mentor junior designers and manage subcontracted design teams.
- Collaborate closely with equipment suppliers and participate in meetings and presentations.
- Ensure all designs meet technical standards and project requirements.
- Estimate design effort and manage change throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Skills:
- Proven design experience in the water industry.
- Strong LV, HV, and ICA design expertise.
- Background in control, telecoms, and ATEX engineering.
- Graduate or HND qualified.
- Proficient in IT and engineering drawing practices.
- Familiar with construction methods and materials.
- Professionally registered; working towards or already chartered.

Ceto Talent are working with an engineering and construction contractor based in Manchester, and we are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (CAD) within the water sector to join on either a permanent OR contract basis.
About the role:
Our client is working with the water companies and your role will be to provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements. Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry. Prepare scopes for and check the output of subcontract M&E design teams. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality, safety-compliant electrical design solutions for the water industry. You'll produce design calculations, drawings, and technical reports, while mentoring junior designers and managing subcontracted design teams. The position involves close collaboration with equipment suppliers, active participation in meetings and presentations, and ensuring all designs meet technical standards and project requirements. You’ll also play a key role in estimating design effort and managing change throughout the project lifecycle. This position is based in Manchester and is a full-time role, working hybrid.

The salary for the permanent option is between £45,000 and £70,000 and will be dependent on your experience and suitability. The contract position is between £350 and £450 per day (deemed outside of IR35) and the contract is ongoing. We can only consider applications from those eligible to work in the UK for this position.
