Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly consolidated management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and reviews, investigating discrepancies.
  • Month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Regular cost analysis involvement.
  • Preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments, and monthly journal entries.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Overseeing accounts payable processes, including accurate posting and validation of invoices.
  • Reviewing and validating expense claims.
  • Bank reconciliations and query resolution.
  • Preparation of VAT returns and raising POs.
  • Support for the annual audit process.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting implementation of efficiencies.

Key Skills:

  • Part-qualified and actively studying CIMA/ACCA.
  • Previous involvement with Management Accounting, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Exposure to statutory accounts and accounts consolidation experience.
  • Solid transactional finance experience.

Management Accountant // Wigan // @£40-45k // Study support // Hybrid

We are currently partnering with a well-established, PE-backed Tech business in the Wigan region as they look to recruit a Management Accountant following restructure. Reporting into the FD, this individual will play a key part in a collaborative finance team and will be responsible for the production of Management Accounts, combined with elements of day-to-day transactional finance. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in ad-hoc projects such as implementations and process improvement. The role will provide an excellent opportunity for someone to make their mark and contribute to the development and improvement of the businesses’ financial reporting processes. Working in a relatively small finance team of five will allow real variety and extensive exposure. The role will suit an adaptable team-player who is keen to see the bigger picture and touch on a wide range of areas across finance. There is clear progression opportunity for this role in the future, and it is anticipated that the individual will develop their knowledge and experience whilst studying, as the company continues on its growth trajectory.
