Summary: The Management Accountant role is a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Northallerton, UK, within a leading manufacturing company. The position is integral to supporting financial health and operational efficiency, involving tasks such as financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management. The successful candidate will provide strategic insights to drive business decisions and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a blend of analytical skills and experience in the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational plans.
  • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including analysing variances and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation of stock levels.
  • Manage the accounting for fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation, and disposal.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making within the manufacturing department.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required to support business initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • A professional accounting qualification such as CMA or CIMA is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Salary (Rate): £40,000
