Summary: The Project Procurement Director role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Chester, focusing on strategic and operational procurement activities. The position requires managing end-to-end procurement processes, including tendering and supplier management, to ensure cost-effective operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in procurement within engineering fields and will be responsible for budget management and supplier negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement, including tendering, sourcing, and supplier/contract management
  • Identify and implement measures to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Analyse supplier offers and select the most appropriate purchasing goals
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable bids
  • Confirm and manage letters of agreement and orders within designated limits
  • Coordinate logistics for shipping, customs, and insurance operations
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Office Procurement department
  • Monitor supply market trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Oversee warehouse activities, including consumables, goods receipt, and transfers

Key Skills:

  • MCIPS qualification
  • Experience working with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience with ERP software, preferably SAP
  • Strong document drafting and analysis skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proven experience in stakeholder and supplier management
  • Experience managing procurement budgets of £35m

Salary (Rate): £84,000
