Summary: The Management Accountant role is a 9-month contract focused on maternity cover, responsible for compliance and accounting for smaller entities within the group. The position involves managing external accountants, supporting the year-end audit process, and mentoring junior finance team members. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance and accounting for smaller entities in the Group (PHAUS, PHCAN, PHMNZ).
- Liaise with and manage external local accountants and advisers.
- Support the year-end Global Audit process and respond to related queries.
- Mentor junior members of the finance team.
- Own the Annual Budget Planning and Risk & Opportunities for delegated areas.
- Coordinate with the FP&A team for P&L/BS lines.
- Process payroll journals and resolve discrepancies with Payroll.
- Process Company Expenses, including credit cards and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Conduct Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Drive continual improvement of processes and support junior team members.
- Participate in projects and testing related to areas of responsibility.
Key Skills:
- A professional qualification in Accounting or Finance (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.

Interim vacancy has arisen due to secondment of current role holder to cover a maternity leave in FP&A for 9months
Responsible for the compliance and accounting for the smaller entities in the Group (PHAUS, PHCAN and PHMNZ), liaising with and managing the external local accountants and advisers and ensuring filings and queries from Insurers etc are responded to timely
Supporting the year-end Global Audit process and responding to queries pertaining to the entities within remit, and mentoring the other junior members of the wider Finance team
Ownership of the Annual Budget Planning and Risk & Opportunities (R&Os) for delegated Central & Support functional areas and coordinating with the FP&A team for the P&L/BS lines within FP&A remit
Monthly activities include
- Processing payroll journals and working with Payroll to resolve discrepancies,
- Processing Company Expenses including Company Credit Cards, Out-of-Pocket expenses
- Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Continual improvement of processes and support/mentoring junior members of the team
- Involvement in projects and testing where applicable to areas of responsibility
