Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians, including building skills matrices and creating training plans.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and create action plans to address performance gaps.
  • Lead daily pulse meetings regarding Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics.
  • Implement Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma principles to eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce costs.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing standards, eliminating hazards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in maintenance planning and execution within a manufacturing environment.
  • Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering (e.g., City & Guilds).
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data to make KPI-based decisions.
  • Familiarity with Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and criticality analysis.
  • Experience developing training programs and competency frameworks.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a client based in Desford. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a maintenance team focusing on equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. In this role, you will drive proactive maintenance planning, manage performance through KPIs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will work cross-functionally to support production goals while ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and cost standards. Location: Desford Contract Duration: 12 months Rate: Up to 29 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shift Schedule This role offers a distinct shift pattern designed to maximise daylight hours: Monday - Wednesday: 06:00 - 14:30 Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00 Friday: 06:00 - 12:00 Key Responsibilities Leadership: Manage and develop a team of maintenance technicians, including building skills matrices and creating training plans to upskill members.
