Maintenance Engineer

Summary: The Maintenance and Automation Engineer role at a leading Defence and Aerospace company in Portsmouth involves maintaining and repairing production tooling and jigs, optimizing NC programs for CNC drilling, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair production tooling and jigs.
• Develop and optimise NC programs for CNC drilling (CAWDE).
• Diagnose and resolve industrial equipment faults.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Liaise with external suppliers for tooling repair and upgrades.

Key Skills:

• HNC or 10+ years in Tooling, Jig Design, or Production Maintenance.
• NC programming and Catia V5 experience.
• Knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens NC systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with CMM, Laser Tracker, Spatial Analyzer (desirable).
• Knowledge of hydraulics, PLCs, robotics, and automation (desirable).
• Familiar with PFMEA, PPS, and software change management (desirable).
• Additive manufacturing and mechanical engineering background (desirable).

Salary (Rate): £41/hour
