Summary: The Senior Accountant role at Northumbria Police involves providing comprehensive financial management support within the Finance Department. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with statutory accounts preparation and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Manage budget and treasury management tasks.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Advise senior managers for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with Home Office and CIPFA Codes of Practice.
- Prepare Annual Statements of Account and Annual Governance Statements.
- Manage financial performance information and forecasts for revenue and capital budgets.
- Provide quality assurance for financial information accuracy.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure robust financial data and projections.
Key Skills:
- Professional finance qualification (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant post-qualification experience in a large complex organization.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of financial planning and budget management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective planning and task management abilities.
- Experience in team management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
