Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time locum consultant dermatology services at designated hospitals.
- Engage in cross-site working and support peripheral clinics.
- Deliver a mix of virtual and face-to-face senior medical cover.
- Participate in direct clinical care and supporting professional activities as per the Welsh Consultant contract.
- Collaborate with the oral and maxillofacial department for head and neck plastic surgery services.
Key Skills:
- GMC License to practice.
- Experience and training in acute and general dermatology, and skin oncology.
- Understanding of clinical risk management.
- Strong communication skills with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with NHS operations.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.

Job Overview TheHealthBoardwishestoappoint a full time locum Consultant Dermatologist , the post will be based at either Wrexham Maelor Hospital or Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. There is a requirement for cross site working with peripheral clinics. Both posts will be supporting Ysbyty Gwynedd locality and will provide a variety of virtual and face to face Senior Medical cover as part of a hub and spoke model.
Main duties of the job This post is a full time post, which hasarisen due to a change in service model. There is a requirement for cross site working with some peripheral clinics. Theposts are fortenPA’sperweekofwhich,typically,sevenwill befordirectclinical care(DCC) and three for supporting professional activity (SPA), as specified in the Welsh Consultant contract. Dermatology is managed in Community Directorate (a mixture of community and some acute based services) with the base for Dermatology remaining in the acute sectors of Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The dermatology department has excellent relationships with the oral and maxillofacial department who provide the head and neck plastic surgery services in North Wales. There is no out of houroncall requirementfor thispost.
